Know God

One of the greatest joys at Liberty Church is helping people realize that it is really possible to know God. Imagine having a conversation with a supreme being that is your creator. He is the one that uniquely designed who you are and knows everything about you. Your dreams, your fears, your struggles, your personality, your hurts . . . . Everything!

Knowing God is the most incredible experience a person could ever have. Over the last 20 years, Liberty Church has helped thousands of people take steps toward God. There is something amazing every single time someone takes another step. There is a sense of inner peace that is so strong many times others detect something different about the person. When someone makes things right with God, their creator, they begin to experience life as it was meant to be experienced.

Many messages in our world today promote a very self centered alternative to living in relationship with God. It is very tempting to live our lives ignoring God and focusing on getting what we want, when we want it. The problem is that until our inner self, our soul, is made right with God, nothing satisfies us. We are left simply doing what we can in order to experience outer happiness.

Would you like to know God? He has provided the means necessary for us to enter a dynamic relationship with him. To start the journey, begin to study God's message of love that His Son, Jesus, shared while he walked on earth. The gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John have captured God's message in four different accounts. Read what Jesus said about life, knowing God, and life beyond death. Also, study how he treated people. He was kind, honest, inclusive, and led well.

Jesus took every opportunity when he was with people to genuinely help them with their soul problem. Just like today, everyone was searching for the meaning of life and experiencing more than just what earth had to offer. He spoke truth to people in such a way that it made sense to them. Jesus did three things well. He helped all people regardless of their success or failure. Second, He spoke truth into their lives that they were not able to get anywhere else, and it made sense to them. Finally, he lived his life in such a way that it was attractive to others. He was focused, loving, smart, kind, and generous. On top of all this, he performed miracles that were undeniable. This was a winning combination and probably explains why people still follow him today nearly 2,000 years later.

Part of the message that Jesus gave to people was that the biggest thing holding them back from a fulfilling relationship with God was their sin.

Because God is perfect, sin cannot come into His presence. To compensate for this, a sacrifice of great price had to be paid. Someone had to pay for the sins of the people that wanted to know God. Sin permanently separates people from God and this somehow, some way had to be dealt with.

Jesus was willing to pay this price and offered His life to be sacrificed on behalf of the people that he spent his life knowing and loving. God not only was willing to accept this sacrifice for the people that Jesus knew but also for the sins of all people in the future who wanted to be forgiven of their sins. It was the ultimate sacrifice and it came at a great price.

At Liberty, we don't claim to understand all of the dynamics that go with the death of Jesus Christ, but we do know one thing. To be right with God is incredible. When we chose to accept what Jesus did on the cross for us, and we make a conscious decision to follow His ways for living, our lives become radically better. To have your soul healed is an incredible first time experience followed by daily enjoyment of knowing God.

If you would like some help in this journey of discovering God, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are not perfect, nor are we experts, but we have experienced God and are highly motivated to help others.
